Beowulf Film Project

This is not what we want.

Yes. That's right. The English Club is making a cinematic version of Beowulf that will be way better than the recent CGI version starring Crispin Glover. The film will be made over the course of this semester with a target screening date of Shakespeare Day (April 24).

Our film will be faithful to the original Beowulf manuscript. The script will be written by Dr. Balkun and Dr. Weisl and I will be narrating. We already have a few stars, but we still need more people to be in the film and to help out with production. That's where you come in.

This Friday, we will be meeting to discuss the film. If you want to star in the film, you need to come to this meeting. It will be held on Friday, February 8 in Room 245 of Fahy Hall at 11:00 AM. That's:

Hopefully, our film will be posted in its entirety on this very blog after its completion. So come out to the meeting, English Majors. If you have any questions, e-mail me at arminith [at] shu [dot] edu.

Here is the trailer for the 2007 Beowulf film. Again, this is not what we want.

All best,
Tom.
